About Gaia
Gaiaonline is a fantasy based virtual community with a strong focus on art, anime and role play. On this page I will post some of the avatars created at the website and art done for a story currently being developed. I will also post tips and a site review. The site is totally free to join and any donations or contributions to the site are totally voluntary. Though there are very many young members aged 13-21 there are members in the 80's and 90's. Each member gets a starter wardrobe, a house with starter furniture, a car for the rallies and a small amount of gold which is the currency on the site. If you participate in the new user quest you can collect about 500 in gold in about 10-15 minutes. Basically, you get gold for everything you do there. Yes the site is full packed with flash players and you need to be enabled to view swf files on the site. If you can see the videos on this site and play the games here then you already have a flash player. In order to update and modify your home you will need java script or enable your java-virtual- machine setting on your browser.

Everyone starts off with a basic "newbie" avatar and "newbie" wardrobe. the starter clothes are really cute. But, all the members who have been on the site for long can tell immediatelyplanned other if you are a newbie.

This is my current avatar. There have been many changes along the way as I am creating character bases for a story. Stumbling on interesting designs along the way I think I have made the story a lot longer than originally planned

News
Right now there is the beginning preparation of ...get this... an Halloween event. I know it's the beginning of August. Anyway the events planned in forums by members that receive a good following sometimes become incorporated into the holiday event festivities for the site. The past few Halloween's have focused around the Aliens "Zurg" which appear in the interactive towns. Members can have their avatars turned into zurg buy drinking a can of "zurg" and turned back by drinking "Red Bino" both available in the shops. I'll update you on the progress of the event. I picked this one for news because I agreed to help make some of the banners and siggys (signature blocks 500x500 pixels or less)
Interesting Events
There are plenty of these and I will add to this section in the near future. There are so many events I believe I will add a maya gaia blog to my blogspot and update there. that way I can import the feed without making this one of the longest ages ever. update will be made to let you know final decisions.
My Houses
Over time the houses slowly are upgraded in size (5000 gold) and are decorated. so the final versions and all of the various stages are not included here for all homes associated with my profiles. Some homes found in the virtual town are elaborate and some are bare concrete walls, when the member chose not to decorate. You can visit other homes in the towns, and there is a separate chat box in each one. But you cannot move around the items in the homes while in the virtual interactive community.
My Rally Racing Trophies
Though it doesn't take a lot of skill to win I like the way the winner circle pictures are displayed.

The rally is a straight race track which is more stop and go than anything. You meet other members in the "rally meet up" where you can chat or compare cars and challenge other members to a race. Avoiding obstacles including alien abductions, cows and zombies will determine who gets to the finish line first. Actually if you hit the zombies the zombie body parts will slow down your opponent. Getting abducted in the middle of the race will slow you down. And if you don't want to race well you can watch an on going race. It is a simple race which is suitable for even the youngest members on the site.
Fishing and fishing stats
Fishing is a big deal and it isn't easy to do. I have been fishing for about a month with the encouragement of a good friend. My dear friend and artist Kris Kinne started fishing the beginning of July and ranked 2nd place at the Port of Gambino - Way to go Douglas Cavell ( that's his character name that won the 2nd place trophy). I am asking for prayers for Kris because he is scheduled for surgery this month of August 2007.
At one point last month I made it to 20th place overall. Oh yes I took a screenshot, because, I knew it wouldn't last.
